I live in Seattle now!

...but I never update my blog. And I rarely wear lipstick.

2012 resolution: update blog, even if only for mental health.

You Will Bundle and You Will Like It

It has come to my attention that another grueling winter is upon us, and unlike all of the promises (threats) I made to myself last winter,
I FORGOT TO MOVE. You know - just pack up my life and start anew in a warmer climate, land a great job, get rail thin, start wearing red lipstick and too much blush and find some rich Jewish dude to make everything else right.

DAMNIT. Let’s talk about clothes.

I love discussing and overhearing how all of us women are going to completely revitalize ourselves once fall fashion starts stabbing at our eyes. But what I like more is when the temperature really starts to drop and people get serious (not to mention, totally pissed).

A few real-life complaints: Why the f*** do we live here?/Where did all of my clothes from last winter go?/ I despise my winter jacket/ I have been wearing the same sweater for 6 years/Did I seriously wear this shit last year?

As usual, I'm WAY behind on my winter clothes shopping, but it's kind of my ritual to get one swift kick in the ass from a 10-below wind gust before taking any legitimate action. I have, however, started stockpiling some no-fail basics to build upon:

1. So-Low leggings (these are THE BEST – my BFF and cousin are also hooked)
2. American Apparel plunging V-necks (so I can show a little skin while I'm layering my life away)
3. One chunky-knit cardigan (countless more needed)
4. Insoles for my vintage boots (ok this was not weather-induced but a noteworthy mention)

Obviously I'm starting small here, but at least I've started to come to terms with the impending doom that is winter in the midwest. What are you stockpiling for warmth? How do you look good and feel good during the intolerable, dark, and loathsome months of winter?

And by all means - get a little pissed about it.
